Frequently Asked Questions:

When does practice start, how often do you practice, when are the games, and how long is the season?

Football – Practice schedules are determined by the head coaches of each squad. Typically, practice will start the first weekday in August and run four to five nights a week from 6-8. Once school starts, this will usually drop to three nights a week. League games run in September and October. Most of the varsity games are on Saturdays, and the junior varsity games are on Sundays. There may be an occasional evening game in the schedules as well. Teams that make the playoffs will play into November.

Cheerleading – Practice starts in mid-August and is usually 1-2 nights a week.

What equipment do we need?

Players need to provide their own cup, supporter and football cleats. All other football equipment is provided by the club. Please note our leagues do not allow ANY metal cleats. Please buy the molded rubber cleats. Watch for announcements on discount nights we’ll arrange with local sporting goods companies.

When do we get our equipment?

Once registration is complete, we will schedule a date (usually late July) for each team to be fitted for equipment at Bulldog Hall.

Which team will my child play with?

Teams are grouped by age and weight. Please see the “Divisions” tab on the web page to get a detailed list of teams.

How much does it cost?

Registration fees are listed on the "Registration" tab on the web page.

Do we need to participate in fundraising?

The Bulldogs have one required fundraiser for raffle tickets. Each family purchases (10) $5 raffle tickets at registration. You make keep these tickets for yourself, or you may sell them to friends and family. The raffle is held on Family day in October. The proceeds of the raffle are used to offset uniform and equipment expenses.  Optional fundraisers include a beef and beer (for the adults only!) and the awards banquet.

Do we need to work in the concession stand?

Yes. The team parent for your team will create a  rotating schedule where a parent from each family will need to do a shift (usually a quarter or a half) of a home game.

We’re new. What should we bring to the first night of practice?

Your coaches will tell you what equipment to bring for any given practice, such as cleats, helmets, pads, etc.

What parents might like to bring:

- Water or Gatorade. -  Many parents bring a small cooler to keep a few bottles of cold water and some ice. Your player will appreciate having something to drink during the warm August practices.

- Folding chairs. - You're welcome to sit in the bleachers, but you can get a better view on the sideline. You can also move to try and stay in the shade.

- Sunscreen. - There's still a lot of sun in the August evenings.

- Bug repellent. - Players don't really need this since they are moving around, but you might want some to sit on the sidelines.

- Sneakers for you - Many parents take advantage of the track and get a little walk or run around the track while the kids are on the field.

- Umbrella. - Practice will often continue during rain unless there is a threat of lighting or field conditions to not permit.

- Small towel -Useful to wipe off a sweaty, grimy player face!

- Camera/Camcorder - It's a matter of time until one of our players wins the grand prize on Funniest Home Videos.

Please remember!! Our volunteer coaches put many hours of effort, both on and off the field to help create a great program for our kids. If you have any concerns, please try to address them on the sidelines with a coach before or after practice, away from the kids.
